Welcome to Gili Trawangan!
Located just off the coast of the northwest Lombok Island, Gili Trawangan is the biggest of the three Gili islands. In the past these islands (also known as 'The three little peanuts') were used by the people of Sulawesi for coconut and palm plantations. Today the islands are characterised by sandy white beaches, clear blue waters and the generous hospitality, which is typical of the Indonesian people. The island prohibits the use of motorised vehicles which creates a refreshing atmosphere. You can rent a bicycle at one of the many rental shops found all across the island, or perhaps try some of the culture and hire a horse and cart to travel around this tropical paradise.
As the Island's character evolved so did the influx of tourism. Therefore it is no surprise that the quality and range of accomodation and restaurants has developed on the island. This makes the island appealing to all price ranges and budgets because there is such a vast choice. It’s a great place for those wanting to relax, dive, snorkel, enjoy the vibrant night life or simply explore the many other available activities.
From Lombok to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air
There are many fast boat companies that provide transfers from Bali or Lombok to Gili Trawangan. However we always advise that you check first to find the most reputable ones. Most companies have space for 30 people and the vessels are fairly new and well maintained even by western standards. In case you are staying in the Senggigi area of Lombok, we can always offer daily return transfers to our island through Dream Divers. Pickup is provided for you in the morning at your hotel. Thus allowing you to make the most of your day, either diving on our breathtaking reefs, snorkeling with the turtles or simply relaxing on the beautiful beaches.
